2022 Sim Racing World Cup Continental Qualifiers underway

2022

From 9 to 10 July 2022, the Namibian Electronic Sports Association (NESA) and Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) teamed up to host the first-ever national qualifiers for Assetto Corsa for the two countries from which the two fastest hot lap drivers each country had to offer were chosen.

Adriaan Nel and Melvin Gous stood out as the fastest hot lap driver in Namibia for this year’s qualifier. These sim racers qualified to compete against the best Africa has to offer in the Continental Qualifiers, with only the top 2 in Africa standing a chance to go and compete in the Monaco Sim Racing World Cup 2022.

39 Countries are participating in the Continental Qualifiers, of which 6 are from Africa, for the chance to be the chosen representatives of Africa. The Continental Qualifiers will take place from 26th July 6PM CET to 29th of July 6PM CET.

Only 12 racers globally will be awarded the chance to compete for the champion spot at the Grand Final in Monaco, scheduled for 23 October 2022.

MTC, Logitech and Nanodog, all of NESA’s partners, came together to make this event possible, together with the volunteers of NESA, and the President of MSSA, Colin Webster, and their volunteers.
