Accra Esports Week announced

The maiden edition of what is expected to be Ghana’s biggest esports experience, the Accra Esports Week (AEW) has been officially announced.

The event is a partnership between some of the nation’s biggest esports and gaming entities including the Esports Association Ghana (EAG), Esports Academy, PlayProvince, Play Arena, Leti Arts, PopOut, Playdium and the Ghana Esports Federation (GEF).

According to the event’s website, it is looking to bring “video gamers, gaming communities, hubs, clubs, retailers and stakeholders together.” and will involve “a full week of video gaming and exhibitions, seminars, workshops and socialization.”

Over 1,000 gamers are expected to compete in the event’s numerous video game competitions to win great prizes. While over 50 industry experts and professionals are set to share their insights on the esports industry.

The Accra Esports Week (AEW) is set to kick off in September 2022 and the organisers are expecting a huge turnout of over 5,000 participants to share magical venues with their friends.
