Africacomicade announce Gamathon 2022

The 2022 edition of Gamathon which is organised by Africacomicade and is the continent’s largest convention of digital creatives in the games, animation, comics, and XR industry, is set to be held from September 19 to 24.

This was announced by Africacomicade, which revealed that the third edition of the event will continue from the second (in 2021) and will be held both online and at a physical location in Lagos, Nigeria.

“It is a hybrid event, allowing participation from across the globe, virtually, and rounding up with a physical expo event in Lagos, Nigeria.” A statement by Africacomicade read.

Launched in 2020 by Oscar Micheal, Adewale Abdulhafeez, and Oluwatosin Ogunyebi, Africacomicade faced adversity straight out of the gate with the COVID-19 pandemic at its peak.

However, that would not deter the co-founders, who would still hold their inaugural event completely online before moving to a hybrid system during the second edition.

This year’s theme for Gamathon is “Sustainable Creativity,” focusing on ways to power the growth of the industry and ecosystem. This year’s events includes;
