BILAL MOHAMED WINS AFRICAN CHAMPIONSHIP- SF6

Kenyan Esports player Bilal Mohamed won the GamrX African Championship in the Street Fighter 6 category played in Lagos, Nigeria to mark his international debut in style on the night of May 4th 2024.

The 25 year old beat ‘Looks’ from Nigeria 3-2 in the pulsating Street Fighter 6 finals played at the Landmark Convention Centre in Lagos.

Bilal thanked the Electronic Sports Kenya Federation for the opportunity to play and called for more support to be given to Kenyan players for them to play in international tournaments “I thank Allah for this blessing of a victory in my first tournament away from home. I grateful to the Electronic Sports Kenya Federation for providing me with this opportunity to compete at the international stage. It feels amazing to conquer Africa. I hope this victory opens the door for more Kenyan esports players to compete internationally.”

On his part the President Ronny Lusigi congratulated Bilal while promising to take more Kenyan players to international competitions “Kudos to Bilal. He has made Kenya Proud today. We are happy with his performance. It is testament to the progress we are making. Now we have the motivation to send many more Kenyan players to these international tournaments. We have a lot more in store this year and we urge our players to keep working hard.”


The competition had participation from 12 African countries including Tanzania,
Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Uganda, Cameroon, Angola and hosts Nigeria.
