Black Comets training wraps up today

The Ghana national FIFAe team, the Black Comets, are set to wrap up their initial training session today May 19 at the Esports Academy in Haatso, Accra.

The team kicked-off training this week as they look ahead to the online 2022 FIFAe Nations Cup Middle East and Africa (MENA) Qualifiers.

Ghana have been drawn in Group B of the Qualifiers which will see them face off against South Africa, Palestine, Oman and Lebanon.

The Comets which are made up of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) eTrophy Championship Top 4 Prince Jonas, Habibu “Flow Burner Frass” Sulley, Frank “Wondhakid” Kpakpo and Fremps have been playing two-on-two matches to improve their chemistry as well as analysing matches.

The Black Comets were revealed at the maiden edition of the GFA eTrophy Championship held at the Alisa Hotel in North Ridge, Accra on Saturday May 14.

The competition saw PlayProvince gamer Prince Jonas defeat Habibu “Flow Burner Frass” Sulley in the Grand Final of the competition to not only claim the title but the first place prize of GH₵5,000.

The competition which was organised in partnership with the Esports Association, Ghana (EAG) saw over 120 gamers from 7 regions compete for a spot in Ghana’s first-ever FIFAe national team.
