Curro Clash LAN Set to Ignite Western Cape!

Curro Clash LAN

Curro, one of South Africa’s prominent independent school networks, is gearing up to host another thrilling esports tournament exclusively for students in the Western Cape. The highly anticipated event, called the Curro Clash LAN, will unfold at the esteemed Curro Durbanville Primary School on June 23 and 24, 2023.

The significance of this tournament goes beyond sheer excitement, as it serves as a powerful platform for highlighting a school’s unwavering commitment to nurturing future generations in a digitally driven world. Magdeleen de Kock, the Digital Transformation Facilitator and Esports Project Lead at Curro Durbanville, expressed her enthusiasm, deeming it an exceptional opportunity to showcase the school’s dedication, stating that it was a “fantastic way to showcase a school’s strengthened commitment to developing generations for a digital world.”

Building upon the success of the inaugural Curro Clash LAN held in March this year at Curro Krugersdorp High School, this upcoming event is taking inclusivity to new heights. While the previous tournament was exclusively for Curro system students, the forthcoming Clash LAN warmly invites students from other schools to participate and vie for glory.

The two-day tournament will feature a variety of exhilarating games, including Minecraft Education’s captivating capture-the-flag mode, the highly anticipated Overwatch 2 (with no PvE mode in sight), the immensely popular Valorant, and the epitome of esports excellence, Rocket League, leaving no room for disappointed Counter-Strike fans.

Registration for this thrilling event will commence on June 7, affording eager participants ample time to secure their spot. A nominal fee of R200 per child will be required, guaranteeing access to an array of captivating prizes generously sponsored by Acer for Education. With Acer’s involvement, participants can anticipate truly fantastic rewards, including cutting-edge PC hardware and exciting games that will grace the deserving victors. Aspiring participants must fall within the age range of 12 to 18, and schools are encouraged to send both individual students and entire teams to partake in the event.

The registration fee grants competitors exclusive benefits, including a fully equipped gaming station complete with comfortable chairs, adequate table space, LAN connections, and power sockets. With a finite number of slots available due to the participation of approximately 200 students, swift action will be necessary once registrations open on June 7, 2023. Don’t miss your chance to secure a coveted spot in this electrifying tournament.
