Esports Africa Tournament (EAT) has rolled out their new project #AUESPORTSCONNECT, a Minecraft challenge that aims to use gaming to promote STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Maths) education among young gamers whilst having fun.
The #AUESPORTSCONNECT Schools Minecraft Challenge is a monthly challenge targeting students from ages 8 to 17 to participate in set challenges. The challenge starts February 2023 and runs through to the end of the year.
In a press release copied to this website, the organizers mentioned that each month a topic will be posted on the EAT website and social media handles challenging students to participate and win awards from partners including, KOH KAE foods, stationary and assorted prizes.
It stated that “The use of modern and fun methods in education encourages dynamic and creative thinking to solve everyday problems. The African educational system has been said to be rigid and does not allow for unconventional creative development, however with the trend in web 3 and Artificial Intelligence development is the best way to introduce future leaders and give them the best experience and develop their interest in the Eco space safely.”
In support of the project, Esports Association Ghana is working with Esports Africa Tournament to roll out the event to schools across Ghana.
Esports Association champions the development and progress of esports in Ghana through multi-faceted projects and engagements with stakeholders.
