The Eligue 1 Tour, prestigious esport competition for fans of EA FC (formerly FIFA), ended on a high note on March 2 and 3. The SENGAMES association, in collaboration with the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP), organized the eligue1 Tour Senegal qualifiers to select the champion who will travel to France to take part in the grand final scheduled for April 2023 in Paris. The tournament, which takes place on EA SPORTS FC 24, brings together players from various countries and regions, including North America, Latin America, Morocco, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, the Middle East and China. In Senegal, this competition showcases the talents of the best esports players from around the world, and gives Senegalese players the opportunity to represent the country internationally.
This 4th edition of the eligue1 Tour Senegal was more exciting than ever, with over 200 players battling it out over two days at Gomycode, then Solo Esport. As a reminder, there was a prize pool of 500 euros to be won for the Senegal stage + an all-expenses-paid trip to the French capital and 8000 euros to be shared in the world final. As before, participants select their favorite Uber Eats League 1 team and compete on PS5, Xbox Serie X/S and PC.
The world champion of the eligue1 Tour 2023, none other than Dexx Junior, confirmed his status as favorite by defending his title on home soil. He beat his rival, Mohamedlunik, who also represented Senegal in the second edition of the eligue1 Tour. For Dexx Junior, it was an opportunity to take part in the grand final and win the tournament for the second year running. Issa came third and is undoubtedly a player to watch in the years to come.
There was plenty to celebrate, with prizes including autographed Ligue 1 shirts and consoles for registered players.
Every year, Senegal, through its players and the LFP’s initiatives, extends its influence and enables more players to prove their talent and gain increasing opportunities in the esport world.
