Eligue1 Makes A Stop At Kenya

Organizers, Ligue 1 Uber Eats, in collaboration with EA SPORTSTM, in a press release stated that “We are pleased to announce the return of the eLigue 1 Tour, an international esports competition . This great esports competition shall see Kenyan gamers battle for a chance to win a fully paid trip to Paris, France courtesy of Ligue 1 Uber Eats where they will compete in the eLigue 1 Tour Finals with a prize pool of € 8000,”

“The competition is open to all gamers and football fans residing in Kenya, above the age of 16, who can register for free on the link https://indexgesports.com/eligue1-tour. All participants below the age of 18 must provide parental consent.”

The Kenyan qualifiers shall kick off on February 26th 2023, with the first round and close on March 11, 2023 with the final. All the games shall be played at Alliance Francaise, Nairobi.


The global eLigue 1 Tour Finals are planned for Saturday, May 13, 2023, in the Freaks 4U Gaming studios in Paris. Beyond the competition, the finalists will have the chance to enjoy an unforgettable weekend at the heart of Ligue 1 Uber Eats: attending matches in VIP conditions, backstage tours of the stadiums, visits of different French cities, and much more.


Speaking during the launch at Alliance Francaise Nairobi, IndexG CEO Ronny Lusigi said;
“Last year we had a successful competition, we the grand finals stream on YouTube had over 33 000 viewers. We are looking forward to a better competition this time. I am calling on Kenyan gamers to seize this opportunity.”

“This is an opportunity for Kenyan gamers to not only compete at the international level, but to also enjoy a VIP experience of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats by watching global soccer superstars live in action.”

This competition aims to promote the French championship and its clubs to a young (16+) target audience in key territories for its development.
The prizes for the Kenyan qualifiers includes the following:
 1st placed – Ksh. 25000
 1st runner up – 15000
 2nd runner up – 10000
 4th place – Ksh. 5000
The prize for the Global eLigue 1 Tour finals in France are as follows;
€4,000 – 1st Place
€1,500 – 2nd Place
€750 – 3-4th Place
€250 – 5-10th Place

In France, the Kenyan champion shall face the champions from the following countries/regions :
● North America ● Latin America ● Morocco
