Ghana Gamr X Qualifiers begin tomorrow

The Ghana Qualifiers for the second edition of Gamr X, one of Africa’s largest esports events, will be held tomorrow, March 29, at the Otium Game Hub in Accra, Ghana.

The qualifiers which is organised by the Esports Association, Ghana (EAG) with support from Play Arena and Gamr X organisers, Gamr, is set to bring together the country’s best Mortal Kombat 11 (MK11) and FIFA 23 gamers as they do battle for the chance to represent their nation in either game at the continental event.

The 2023 edition of Gamr X which is set to be held in Lagos City in June 2023 is expected to see a larger turnout than the first, which featured five game titles and competitors from ten different African nations, including Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, Kenya, Algeria, Cameroon, South Africa, the Ivory Coast, and hosts Nigeria. This year’s event will see eight more African countries join the original ten.

The 2022 edition of the Pan-African event saw over 50 gamers compete in FIFA 22 and Mortal Kombat 11 (MK11) with then Tema Esports’ Manuel N’gohlow and Mahadi “GR Assasin” Abubakar who at the time plied his trade for Gamers Republic making history by becoming Ghana’s first reps for the continental showpiece.

Gamr X according to the organiser esports platform Gamr provides “infrastructure for gamers to go professional and organizers to manage tournaments, we are at the heart of the esports industry in Africa.”

The 2023 Ghana Qualifiers for the second edition of the Pan-African esports showpiece, Gamr X, kicks off tomorrow, March 29, at the Otium Game Hub in Accra, Ghana.
