Redstone Royale Africa, a pioneering force in the realm of Minecraft Education esports based in South Africa is bringing together schools from six African nations to foster teamwork, innovation, and friendly competition on a digital canvas.
The five-week programme saw display of creativity, teamwork and the competitive spirit from the teams representing the four schools who participated in the Ghana qualifies.
The Schools from Ghana participating in this competition are Al Rayan School, Queensland School, Primus and Young Graduates.
Two schools qualified to represent the Ghana in the African region competition are Primus Hybrid School and Queensland International School. The two schools will compete with schools from South Africa, Egypt, and Kenya in the All-Africa leg of the competition.
The winning team will represent Africa in a Global competition sponsored by the Saudi esports Authority.
The Ghana school’s competition was organised by Esports Africa Tournament and Esports Africa News in partnership RGM Gaming based in South Africa. At the end of the Ghana school’s competition Jaco Sauer and Rudie Maartens of RGM gaming said they was pleased to have teams from Ghana involved in this initial event and was looking forward to making this a regular on the esports education calendar in Africa.
Atsu Sikanku, cofounder of Esports Africa News and Esports Africa Tournament, said he was happy to see the growing interest in Minecraft education as a STEAM (Science , Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) platform to be incorporated in Ghana schools and hopes this is the start to game-ducation in Ghana.
