Africa’s biggest mobile gaming event brings together elite teams, major brand activations, and a Guinness World Record attempt for an unforgettable esports weekend.
The stage is set for Africa’s biggest mobile gaming event of the year. On August 30–31, the Carry1st Africa Cup 2025 Grand Finals will bring eight elite Call of Duty®: Mobile teams from across the continent to Lagos, Nigeria, to compete for a share of the $15,000 prize pool and the chance to represent Africa for the first time at the Call of Duty®: Mobile World Championship 2025, hosted by Activision.

Fans can look forward to two days of high-stakes competition, entertainment, and community celebration at the D Podium International Event Centre, Aromire, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. Representing Nigeria are Sierra7, who arrive as back-to-back national champions following a dramatic 4–3 victory in the most-recent Nigeria qualifier.
Other teams include South Africa’s disciplined and deadly ParadoX, Ghana’s stylish and strategic Aura 233, Egypt’s powerhouse Bear Clan (previously known as Instinct), Kenya’s fearless Delta eSports, Uganda’s Nondescript Gaming, and the dominant Sage Gaming from Senegal.
The Grand Finals will be more than just a battle for esports glory. Spotify, the Official Music Sponsor, will keep the energy alive with curated beats, live DJ performances, guest artists and interactive fan moments. Mentos, the Official Chewing Gum Sponsor, will bring a lively, welcoming activation zone where fans can connect, play, and refresh.
What’s more – content creator Mavis Lucky will add another historic twist to the weekend, with an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most selfies taken in three minutes, inviting fans in Lagos—and around the globe—to be part of the moment.
This year, the Grand Finals marks the first time Africa’s champions will advance to the Call of Duty®: Mobile World Championship 2025, vying for a share of the $850,000 prize pool, and placing the continent firmly on the global esports map.
“The Carry1st Africa Cup is more than a tournament—it’s a celebration of African talent, culture, and its place in global esports,” said Dominion Eromosele, Lead Growth Manager at Carry1st. “With our partners and fans, we’re creating an experience that will live long in the memory of gamers.”
For those watching from home, Kenyan fans can follow all the action on K24’s digital channels, while viewers in Ghana can tune in to GH One TV. Fans across the continent can also catch the event live on Carry1st’s YouTube channel.
