The Backbone in the promotion of the Gaming-Esports Industry in Africa are PARENTS. Hypothesis; if every household has a console, the Industry will become vulgar. And this will help break the taboo of video games being a waste of time. All things on earth has an essence but with moderation, same too with the Gaming-Esports Industry. With the lack of awareness from some PARENTS, Community engagement and empowerment is that which leads to the continuous development in the promotion of the Gaming-Esports Industry and helps some youths survive the urge of expressing thier ICT and Gaming-Esports Prowess.
In Africa, precisely Cameroon. A group of youngster (Avengers – Neo synergist) from varied Universities with ICT background pledge through Community Engagement and Empowerment to demonstrate the importance of ICT and thier skills of ICT through Project Based Activities like Hackathons, GameJam, MasterClass, Conference and Esports as a vector to alleviate poverty and unemployment.
This youngsters (Avengers – Neo synergist) go by the acronym for thier project base activity – ICT4DHACKATHON meaning information and communication technology for development hackathon. This year 2025, they host the next edition from the 9th – 12th April (venue communicated on the eve publicly). It concerns all enthusiasts of the Gaming-Esports Industry and ICT who are able to make it at the event are welcome especially Coders, Game Developers, ICT business/investors/philanthropist, Esports amateurs/professionals, Manga-Anime Fans or Otaku lovers and all business fields related to ICT and Gaming-Esports.
– Esports Africa News 📰 through it’s initiatives of creating awareness of the Gaming-Esports Industry in Africa and informing the general public of all updates/news in this sector has for the past one month worked with this youngsters on project management through its country representative. To help guide them on the proper realisation of their activities. Proper preparation prevents poor performance – 5p’s of project coordination.
