Senegal lost to Brazil in the round of 32, becoming the latest African team eliminated from the 14th World Esports Championships.
By defeating Vietnam by a score of 6 to 4 overall, the African team advanced past the group qualifiers and took second place in Group M. Senegal’s victory was short-lived, however, as it was unable to advance past the Round of 32. Haddiyatou Lahi Diouf of Senegal was eliminated from the competition after losing 2-0 to Bruno Mota Da Silva of Brazil, commonly known as Futefacil-10.
The Senegalese Association for Esports praised Haddiyatou’s efforts while representing his nation and promised to return next year even more prepared. “Unfortunately, we were defeated 2-0 by FuteFacul in the top 32 round. We’re out of the competition. GG @HadyJuve Thank you for representing us. We’re proud of you. We will come back stronger next year”
Senegal’s Haddiyatou Lahi Diouf played his way to the second spot after losing his opening match to Argentina’s Reynaldo Andres Molina Alfonsin, beating his other counterparts in Group M to make it to the round of 32. Despite the loss, Senegal can relish in the fact that they made it to the Round of 32 after their shaky start to the competition.
