Immortals Gaming Club-owned Brazilian esports organisation MIBR has launched a new talent platform named WIBR (Women in Brazil).

The initiative aims to create career opportunities in gaming and esports for women and non-binary people.

WIBR will promote careers in media, marketing, finance, commercial, legal, and development, among other areas. Professionals can register themselves for free to be part of the platform’s talent pool and be seen by partnered companies.

The project kicks off with an already expansive list of relevant partners, including Riot Games, Ubisoft, Globo, Omelete, Player1, Monster, Logitech, Miners GG, School of Rock, Rio2C, Final Level, Octagon Brasil, and Beyond Films, among others.

As partners, these companies are committing to prioritising WIBR when looking for talent in gaming-related positions. The platform is also sponsored by MIBR partners such as 1xBet, bank Itaú, crypto company Bybit, and education institute Senac.

MIBR CEO, Roberta Coelho, commented: “We were born and raised hearing that games are for boys. This is a cultural belief that we need to change. WIBR arrives to help with this change. We want more girls looking at this universe as a career possibility and companies looking at girls as great assets to work in this area.”

Any company can access the database for free, but partners have access to extra filters and information filled in by talents.

MIBR expects WIBR to record around 8,000 professionals in its talent pool within its first year of existence. Alongside promoting the platform through its own content, WIBR plans to achieve this by counting on media partners like Globo and Omelete Company.

Coelho added: “Until WIBR emerged, teams and brands were looking for women with an interest in games and esports within social networks like Twitter, in an unprofessional way and at the mercy of judgments, filters and prejudices. WIBR arrives to create a connection network and boost women’s careers in this fast-growing gaming environment.”
