Game developer Riot Games has announced that electronics manufacturer OnePlus will serve as the presenting partner for the 2022 Amazon European Masters Summer season.

As part of the deal, the OnePlus logo will be integrated into broadcasts by presenting the top plays from each match.

Commencing on August 24, the online tournament will see a total of 28 top European Regional League (ERL) teams compete for its €150,000 (~£126,400) prize pool.

OnePlus is the latest addition to the EU Masters’ list of commercial partners. The tournament’s portfolio includes the likes of title sponsor Amazon, gaming chair manufacturer Secretlab, PC hardware manufacturer WD_BLACK, Pringles, KitKat and Jack Link’s.

This is not the first time that OnePlus has worked with an esports entity, as it has teamed up with Suning Gaming and SK Gaming in the past. The manufacturer first entered the esports scene in 2019 through its collaboration with Fnatic.

OnePlus has also been at the centre of mobile gaming as it recently revealed new technology for its smartphones, The HyperBoost Gaming Engine, to make gameplay smoother and more stable.

Tuomas Lampen, European Head of Strategy at OnePlus, commented on the partnership: “OnePlus’ community is at the heart of everything we do, and many of them are avid gamers. From speaking to them, we know that mobile gamers are looking for a more immersive experience.

“Therefore, we have partnered with Amazon European Masters to provide our gaming community with a premier professional platform for a fascinating gaming experience. We look forward to making high-end mobile gaming more accessible and showing it to gaming enthusiasts everywhere.”

Riot Games has held a plethora of competitions throughout the year, with the most recent events being Twitch Rivals’ Summer Rumble and Gamer Girls Night In.
