Owolabi to represent GEF at Global Youth Summit

Founder and CEO of the Lagos Esports Forum (LESF) Sayo Owolabi will be representing the Global Esports Federation (GEF) at the International Telecommunication Union‘s (ITU) Generation Connect Global Youth Summit to be held from June 2-4 in Kigali, Rwanda.

This was revealed by the Owolabi who serves as a member of the Education, Culture & Youth (ECY) and International Relations & Development (IRD) Commissions of the GEF.

“This week I will be representing the Global Esports Federation at the International Telecommunication Union’s Generation Connect Global Youth Summit in Kigali, Rwanda from June 2-4, 2022.” The LESF CEO said

“Looking forward to an impactful time with different sessions and talks on how young people can take advantage of the opportunities in digital technology.”

The Secretary-General of the Africa Esports Development Federation (AEDF) also revealed that popular Kenyan pro-gamer Sylvia Gathoni also known as “QueenArrow” will be at the event “I also look forward to meeting my learned friend and Africa’s leading pro-gamer Sylvia Gathoni.”

The ITU’s Generation Connect Global Youth Summit is set to bring together young leaders, entrepreneurs, social change-makers, engineers, policy specialists, and students among others to address the digital divide and related topics, including digital skills, gender, climate change, online safety, the future of work, entrepreneurship, digital dependencies and more.

The event will be held from June 2-4 at the Intare Conference Arena, in Kigali, Rwanda. However, it will be in a hybrid format, with physical participation, as well as virtual youth engagement.
