The 2023 edition of the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile Pro League (PMPL) – Africa Spring officially kicks off today, March 21, and is set to run until April 16.
The competition, which is entirely online, brings together 20 of the best PUBG Mobile teams from across the continent—12 of which qualified from the PMPL Africa Fall 2022, 5 from the PUBG Mobile National Championship (PMNC) Middle East and Africa (MEA) Wildcard, and 3 teams qualifying from the PMNC Egypt 2022—to compete for a $57,000 prize pool and a spot at the 2023 PMPL Middle East and Africa Championship Spring.
Teams like 2022 PUBG Mobile Pro League – Africa Fall silver medalist Titan Gaming, 2021 PUBG Mobile Star Challenge Arabia third place finisher Team RA’AD, and 2022 PUBG Mobile Star Challenge Arabia: Ramadan Edition silver medalist Cryptics, among others, will be looking to dethrone the 2022 PMPL – Africa Spring champions Virtual Gaming Squad and their roster, which includes Abdulkarim “ROMANA” Saeid, Musab “1SHoTT” Altaib, and Ahmed “ZEUS” Alkhatroshi.
The teams have already been drawn into groups of four to do battle during Matchday 1 of Phase 1 of the competition, which kicks off today, March 21, and wraps up tomorrow, March 22. Matchday 2 of Phase 1 kicks off on March 24 and will run until March 26. Below are the groups for the 2023 PMPL – Africa Spring:
