Gamers of Senegalese esports team, Solo Esports, have impressed at the maiden edition of the Gamr organised 10-nations esports competition, Gamr X.
Especially impressive was the gamer Hamza who claimed gold in the Mortal Kombat 11 (MK11) Ultimate event of the competition.
Speaking after his victory Hamza thanked both his team and the organisers Gamr “That was a great tournament ggs to all players! And thanks to my team Solo Esport Club and Gamr Africa for the fantastic event! I hope the bar will continue to rise for African esports.”
Solo Esports didn’t waste any time in congratulating the MK11 Ultimate Gamr X champions on their official Twitter handle stating “We are the champions of Gamr Africa MK11 2022. Congratulations Hamza.”
Also impressing at the tournament was Solo Esports’ Addexx who finished in third place during the FIFA 22 event of the competition with his team’s manager, Mamadou Dioum, praising the gamer despite his defeat.
“Coming to a foreign country and seeing everyone cheering for you is still strong. It proves that you have taken esports on FIFA extremely far and helped a lot of young players to step up, win or lose you are still a legend and the best ever. Keep your head up Addexx.”
Gamr X kicked off on 2nd April 2022 at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria and saw some of the best gamers from ten African countries including Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, Kenya, Algeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Ivory Coast and hosts Nigeria compete in five game titles for a prize pool of $15,000.
