The organisers of the second YouTube Creators Festival, which will take place in Accra, Ghana, from November 24 to 26, have added a Sports & Gaming category to the YouTube Creator Awards lineup. The category was added after the festival received numerous requests to include it.
The decision was made and announced on the YouTube Creators Festival Twitter page, with the following statement: “You Requested we heard! Sports & Gaming Category now Added to the Awards.”
Ghana’s gaming and esports ecosystem has been constantly building with the entrance of multiple esports organisations, and the inclusion of this category is expected to highlight its commitment to overcoming industry growth barriers.
Kwesi Hayford, President of the Esports Association of Ghana (EAG), expressed gratitude for the category’s inclusion in the festival, saying: “We asked YouTube Creators Festival to add Gaming and Esports Content Creators to this year’s Awards Festival…it’s been Granted. Gamers show your love for your favourite Gaming Content Creators by nominating them.”
Nominations for the YouTube Creators Awards’ Sports & Gaming category are now open. The time has come to nominate your favourite sports or video game creator by visiting the YouTube Creators Festival’s website.
The YouTube Creators Festival, which begins on November 24, concludes on November 26 with the YouTube Creators Awards Night and Concert, which honours the nation’s most influential and hardworking video creators. The festival brings together regional content creators to engage, educate, and inspire the worldwide YouTube community.
