Tema Esports, Team Falcons GH, Xplosion Esports and Cougars Esports are set to compete in the Greater Accra Regional Qualifiers of the FIFA 22 Ultimate Pro Gaming Tournament set to be held from September 2–3 at the Game It Up! Hub inside the Marina Mall.

The event, which is organised by the Ultimate Pro Gaming (UPG) Esports Agency, will see the four teams battle it out for the region’s two available slots for the competition’s Grand Finals to be held in December as they look to earn a slice of the GH₵13,000 ($1,312) prize pool.

Following the reveal of the teams, “each team will be going to YFM for an interview,” according to UPG CEO Anthony Botchway, six days before the event, in order to provide “exposure for the team” as well as the “opportunity to express themselves.”

Founded in 2020, the UPG Esports Agency organises competitive esports tournaments across the African continent as the organisation looks to develop and promote the emerging sport to compete among the top pro gaming industries in the world.

The FIFA 22 Ultimate Pro Gaming Tournament was launched back in June at the Game It Up! Hub inside the Marina Mall, Accra. The competition is set to see gamers from across three regions (i.e. Greater Accra, Western and Ashanti regions) in the nation battle it out for the GH₵13,000 ($1,312) prize pool.

During the Accra Qualifiers, registration for the Western Regional Qualifiers will begin from September 1–8 with the main event taking place from September 23–24 at the Game It Up! Hub inside the Takoradi Mall.
