Enoch “Pacquille” Yanzu will represent Ghana in Tekken 7 at the 2023 International Esports Federation (IESF) World Esports Championship (WEC), which will be held from August 24 to September 4 in Iaşi, Romania.

This comes after the Ghanaian dominated during his nation’s qualifiers for the global event, which was organised by the Esports Association, Ghana (EAG) and held on the 25th and 26th of March at the Otium Game Hub in Accra, Ghana.

Pacquille defeated opponents such as Trigga3ffect, Spindoctor, Undead King, Vergantexv, and Bad Back, among many others, to not only secure Ghana’s spot at the World Esports Championship, but also the first-place prize of GH₵4,500.

This year’s National Qualifiers received a significant boost with a GH₵8,000 prize pool, making this year’s qualifiers the largest prize pool for an EAG-hosted fighting game tournament. This is due to the efforts of EAG Vice President Kobina Mensah Ewusie-Mensah, who championed a Pro to Elite Championship and received backing from Kingmen and Alpha King.

Pacquille joins the Ghanaian PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile team Retired Boys, whose members include CASH, KowsTEN, NELLmvp, OPANKA, SPAMA77k, and KillFEED as the West African nation’s representatives for Tekken 7 and PUBG Mobile, respectively, for the global showcase.
