Nigerian football club Alimosho Sports Club (SC) has announced it will continue its partnership with the African gaming platform, Gamr.

The partnership sees Gamr continue as the official esports partner of the 2015 founded sports brand that embodies and represents the local government area of Alimosho “Gamr will join us to lead this revolution and provide a pathway for Alimosho’s esports players to thrive and get their game to a professional level.” Alimosho SC stated.

This was revealed in a video released by the sports brand in which they revealed their reasoning behind their continued partnership with the African esports organisation, stating that “this season we continue our partnership with Africa’s No. 1 esports platform, Gamr, as we join other global sports brands in diversifying into the world of esports.”

It’s been nine (9) months since Alimosho SC initially announced its partnership with Gamr, becoming the first Nigerian football team to take on the emerging sport of esports, developing and managing an esports team to represent them both locally and internationally.

Gamr has been making a name for themselves this year by organising what many would consider the continent’s biggest esports event, Gamr X, which brought together some of the best gamers from 10 African countries to do battle in five game titles for a prize pool of $15,000.

The African esports platform has also announced partnerships with the Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA) to host the 2022 International Day of University Sport (IDUS), Mettlestate to organise the CS:GO Intel Africa Masters tournament, and the Lagos State Esports Association (LSEA) to organise and monitor the Nigerian Qualifiers for the upcoming 14th World Esports Championships.
