The Ghanaian PUBG Mobile (PUBGM) team, Astra, have earned their place as the nation’s reps for the upcoming International Esports Federation (IESF) World Esports Championship to be held in Bali, Indonesia from December 1 to 12.

Astra did this at the Esports Association, Ghana (EAG) and Motherland Gaming TV organised ‘Road to Bali Grand Finale’ held on Saturday, July 2 at the Christ Family Crusaders Church.

The event brought together 14 of the country’s best PUBG teams to do battle for Ghana’s sole spot at the IESF World Esports Championship.

Astra came out on top in what was a close tournament, securing 83 points in the 6 games played, 8 points ahead of second-placed MythicSouls, who claimed 75 points. Third place would go to Ghetto Youth and their 74 points.

The Ghana Road to Bali Grand Finale was truly a gaming festival as the organisers brought together individuals from the nation’s gaming and esports industries to speak about their experiences to a truly diverse demographic.

The event also witnessed a FIFA 2v2 FUT tournament as well as displayed the features and the future of Virtual Reality (VR).
