Extend Reality (XR) in Africa- OUT Reality in Kenya

OUT Reality is an eXtended Reality (XR) Lab and exhibition space exploring the synergies between art and technology in Nairobi, Kenya. According to a post by Brian Afande on Linkedin, the space was conceived with a vision to democratize access to XR infrastructure, OUT Reality is divided into two facets;

The Space

The OUT Reality Space is a platform for artists and contemporary art audiences to access technology and exhibit new media & digital artworks through curated programmes of exhibitions, talks, performances, residencies and events.

The Space exhibits new works by emerging and established artists and provides both educational programmes and a forum for critical engagement relating to working across multimedia and XR.

The Lab

The OUT Reality Lab is a space for artistic exploration at the intersection of art & technology, blending eXtended Reality (XR) technologies with visual artforms. The Lab aims at providing an experimental space that promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between artists and developers to create immersive digital experiences.

The Lab is a community of practice and a talent pool of artists utilizing XR technologies, collective discipline, knowledge and expertise to develop immersive and interactive multimedia content, solutions and experiences.
