South African Johnny “JT” Theodosiou is set to fly the South African (SA) flag at the 2022 PGL Major Antwerp which kicks off today May 9 at the Antwerps Sportpaleis in Antwerp, Belgium.

Johnny and coach Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen are the only SA competitors and will be representing one of America’s premier and longest standing esports organizations Complexity Gaming at the competition.

In a statement on their official blog, Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) wished the two gamers luck ahead of the competition.

“Good luck to Johnny “JT” Theodosiou (Player) and Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen (Coach) for the American Complexity Gaming, who are the only two competitors at the event from South Africa.”

The 2022 PGL Major Antwerp kicks off with the “Challengers” stage, where 16 teams will compete for their spot in the top 8 to move into the tournament’s final “Legends” stage.

The Swiss-System format “Challengers” stage is set to be one for the history books, with 4 teams ranked in the HLTV Top 10 world ranking fighting for their spot in the “Legends” stage.

The 2022 PGL Major Antwerp is set to run from today May 9 to May 22 at the Antwerps Sportpaleis in Antwerp, Belgium and will see teams battle for a slice of the $1 million prize pool.
