Paradise Game, an Ivorian esports organisation, has announced a collaboration with American multinational financial services corporation Visa to launch a regional gamification programme to promote financial education and educate 200,000 young Africans with economic, fiscal, and financial knowledge.

The programme dubbed “The Money Kings,” was officially launched during the sixth edition of one of the continent’s largest gaming and esports festivals, the Festival de l’Electronique et du Jeu video d’Abidjan (FEJA), which wrapped up yesterday, November 27, at the Cosmos Yopougon in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The programme consists of teaching financial education using technology. It includes content creation, in-school activities, initiations, and competitions. The workshops organised in this programme will provide the essential tools to manage money and personal finances better.

Founder of Paradise Game, Sidick Bakayoko, welcomed the partnership with Visa stating “as a video game industry player, we are happy to join Visa in its efforts to promote financial literacy in Africa. Video games are a powerful learning tool that can enable us to improve skills, boost creativity, and inspire the new generation.”

“This collaboration shows the potential of this sector and its capacity to impact lives. Training the youth is a key topic and the assistance of Visa will reinforce our mission which is to entertain, educate, and empower the youth in Africa.”

Carl Malan, Vice President, of Inclusive Impact and Sustainable Development at Visa Central Europe, Middle East, and Africa also spoke on the partnership saying “The video game industry is growing in Africa. Working with Paradise Game allows us to attract a dynamic young audience that needs to grow financial education skills if they want to fully enjoy everything the digital universe offers.”
