With Call of Duty Vanguard essentially in the off-season, the Africa Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) has joined forces with Predator Gaming to bring #CODZA two titles in the Predator Flashback Series.

September will see squads compete in Cold War, while October will celebrate the imminent release of the latest Call of Duty by hosting Modern Warfare (2019) for duos. There’s R5,000 ($289) cash up for grabs in each series, and registration is free.

Competitors can currently sign up to compete in Cold War, with Modern Warfare registrations to follow.

The following dates have been set for the Predator Flashback Series and may be subject to change:

Cold War

  • 2 – 4 September 2022: Swiss Phase Matches
  • 11 September 2022: Finals | Top Four

Modern Warfare

  • 7 – 9 October 2022: Swiss Phase Matches
  • 16 October 2022: Finals | Top Four

For the series, the Swiss system will be used for the qualifying phase. Each team competing will have five matches to secure their spot in the finals.

The teams competing will need to complete one match on Friday (19h00), two matches on Saturday (14h00 and 16h00) and their last two matches on Sunday (14h00 and 16h00).

The finals will be broadcast live on the ACGL Twitch channel.

The R5,000 ($289) cash prize pool per series will be awarded as follows:

  • 1st Place: R2,500 ($145)
  • 2nd Place: R1,500 ($87)
  • 3rd Place: R1,000 ($58)

The Cold War series is only open to teams that use controller input. Modern Warfare will be open to all, regardless of input device. If you are a solo player or free agent (or you’re looking to complete your team), head to the ACGL Free Agent listing page.

For every match you play in the series (and elsewhere on the site), you will be awarded Embers. These can be used to enter the giveaways on the ACGL site.
