Sony has announced the September 2022 lineup of games for its PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) subscribers, and it’s a good one. The list of free games includes Need for Speed: Heat, TOEM, Deathloop, and Assassin’s Creed Origins.

For PlayStation 5 (PS5) owners, TOEM will be available as a digital download at no cost; PlayStation (PS4) players can also get in on the fun by signing up for PlayStation 5 Essential or higher subscriptions.

If you’re a PS Plus subscriber and haven’t picked up the latest monthly games yet, don’t worry: they’re still available to download. Starting September 6, PS Plus subscribers can download the following games until October 3 (and keep them forever as long as they remain subscribed to PS Plus):

Need for Speed: Heat

While the Need for Speed franchise has been around since 1994, this game was published by Ghost Games in 2019. Ghost Games is a video game developer based in Gothenburg, Sweden and was founded in 2010 by Electronic Arts DICE (the developers of Battlefield) and Criterion Games (the developers behind the Burnout series).

Deathloop

In the cyberpunk future of 2064, a group of soldiers are off on an elite mission. After being captured by the enemy and escaping from their cell, the team is separated. You wake up in a room with no memory of who you are or how you got there, but your goal is clear: get out alive!

The entire game takes place in this single room that’s been converted into a maze-like structure where you’ll have to fight through hordes of enemies while trying to figure out who set you up and why. It’s essentially Doom meets Portal, but with more guns than portals (and no cake).

Granblue Fantasy: Versus

Cygames is a Japanese video game developer, publisher, and distributor. Established in 2011 by former Capcom employees, Cygames’ first step was to develop the social game Rage of Bahamut for iOS. The success of this title led them to create their own studio and expand into console games.

The company’s most famous works include the Granblue Fantasy series for mobile devices, which has been adapted into manga, anime, and light novels; as well as the smartphone fighting games Battle Girl High School and its sequel Battle Girl High School: Fight! (both of which have also been adapted into anime).

Assassin’s Creed Origins

If you aren’t familiar with Ubisoft, it’s a French video game developer and publisher that has been around since 1986. The company was founded by five employees with the goal of “putting players in worlds of play.”

As one of the most popular publishers today and a subsidiary of Vivendi Games (which is also owned by Vivendi), Ubisoft has released more than 100 games since its founding including Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is the tenth instalment in their flagship franchise and was first released on October 27th, 2017. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, who took inspiration from ancient Egypt when creating their own version of this historical location.

PS Plus subscribers can still download August 2022’s PS Plus games, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, and Little Nightmares.

If you’re a PS Plus subscriber, don’t worry! You can keep all your titles forever. Just make sure that you have an active subscription when the new games are released, and they will be yours to keep forever.

Be sure to pick these games up before they’re gone. The free PlayStation Plus games for September are available now and will be until October 3.
