RB Leipzig’s esports team, RBLZ Gaming, emerged victorious in a thrilling finale at the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023 presented by Gamers8. The intense 2v2 competition, held from July 6th to 9th, showcased RB Leipzig’s dominance as they claimed the prestigious trophy and a remarkable $300,000 in prize money. This victory solidified their status as the best FIFAe club in the world.
The winning team, RBLZ Gaming-RB Leipzig, featured Umut, the reigning FIFAe World Cup 2022 champion, and Vejrgang, the youngest-ever FIFAe Club World Cup champion. Their exceptional skills and relentless drive propelled them to the top, overpowering their opponents, Team FUTWIZ Europe, in a commanding display of talent.
Out of the initial 960 participating clubs, RB Leipzig emerged as the undisputed champions, securing the title of the world’s finest FIFAe club and a significant share of the $1 million prize pool. The collaboration between FIFAe and Gamers8 elevated the stakes of the tournament, resulting in a substantial $3 million prize pool across all three competitions.

The exhilarating journey has only just begun, as the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023 kicks off on July 11th, followed by the highly anticipated FIFAe World Cup 2023 on July 16th.
Adrian Rölli, Head of eFootball at FIFA, expressed pride in the escalating prominence of clubs and players within the FIFAe ecosystem. FUTWIZ Europe swiftly responded, but a magnificent pass from Umut allowed Anders to secure a goal, resulting in a 2-1 lead at halftime. In the second half, RB Leipzig displayed a formidable defence, denying FUTWIZ any opportunities to score. With a tied score of 1-1 in the second leg, RB Leipzig emerged victorious with an aggregate score of 3-2.
