Good news for South African World Cricket Championship 3 (WCC3) gamers as they stand a chance of representing the nation at the 5th Season of Red Bull’s Mobile Esports Open (MEO).

Players can register for the competition on WCC3 – which can be downloaded on the Apple or Google Play Store for free – to stand a chance at representing their nation at the global event.

Participants will create their team and compete against the AI and stand the chance to be placed in the Top 8 leader board of the competition.

The Top 8 will then compete in person at the Red Bull MEO Season 5 national final taking place at Imperial Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday 28 May 2022.

Speaking ahead of the competition was Red Bull athlete and Proteas player, Kagiso Rabada, who encouraged aspiring mobile esports players to take part in the tournament. “Cricket fans can get in on the action by signing up for Red Bull MEO Season 5.”

“With cricket being one of the most followed sports in the world, it’s cool to have the opportunity to connect with other cricket lovers through this competition.”

The search for South Africa‘s best WCC3 players to represent the nation at the global final which takes place later this year and features teams from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka begins now.

CEO and co-Founder of WCC3 developers, Next Wave Multimedia, P.R. Rajendran, stated his optimism around the game’s participation in Season 5 of the Red Bull MEO.

“WCC 3 association with Red Bull is highly anticipated by many youngsters and cricket fans to participate and compete. With every season, we are increasing our reach to engage [the] maximum number of cricket followers and gamers.”

“This is one of the unique competitions held at an international level, where the winner gets a chance to represent their country to become a global champion,” Rajendran said

Red Bull will also be hitting key student and cricket fan player zones throughout May giving players the chance to grab a can and qualify.

These player zones will be happening in Johannesburg, Potchefstroom, Bloemfontein, Gqeberha, Durban and Cape Town. Dates and locations can be found here.

As the tournament is open for all, players of Red Bull M.E.O. have the unique chance to compete against top mobile esports players and other well-known players.
