Team Falcons are RLCS MENA Fall Cup champs
The 2022/2023 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Fall Cup concluded on October 22, with Team Falcons of Saudi Arabia taking home the $9,000 first-place prize.
Team Falcons’ Ahmad “Ahmad” Abdullah, Khalid “oKhaliD” Qasim, and Mohammed “trk511” Alotaibi began their journey to the title with a 3-0 victory over Iraqi team NextStart Gaming, a 3-1 win over Arrows, and a close 3-2 victory over Saudi side ANKAA Esports, all in the Swiss Stage of the competition.
Following a 3-0 victory over MonsterS in Round 1 of the competition, the Saudi squad faced Infinity in Round 2, defeating their fellow countrymen 3-2 to advance to Round 3, where the Falcons defeated Twisted Minds 3-2.
Team Falcons’ victory in Round 3 would see the side move straight into the Playoffs skipping Rounds 4 and 5 of the MENA Fall Cup. The team would face NOBLES in the Quarter-Finals moving on to the Semi-Finals after defeating the Saudi Arabian side 4-2.
In the Semi-Finals, Team Falcons defeated Emirian esports organisation Geekay Esports 4-0 to book a rematch with Twisted Minds, this time for the title and the 16 RLCS Circuit Ranking Points required to qualify for the 2022/2023 RLCS Fall LAN Major, which will be held from December 8-11 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
In the Finals, Team Falcons defeated Twisted Minds 4-1 (a 1-0 victory in Mannfield, a 4-1 win in Aquadome, a 2-1 victory in DFH Stadium, a 3-2 defeat in Utopia Coliseum, and a 2-0 victory in Wasteland) to collect the MENA Fall Cup first place prize of $9,000.
