The Uganda Esports and Gaming Federation (UEGF) delivered a strong and credible showing at the Africa eFootball Championships in Casablanca, Morocco, underlining Uganda’s growing stature within the continental esports ecosystem.

Uganda’s challenge was led by national representative Marvin Abraham, whose composed and technically assured performances stood out throughout the group stage. Competing in Group B, Marvin guided Uganda to a flawless run, finishing top of the group without a single defeat. The unbeaten campaign not only secured progression to the knockout rounds but also sent a clear signal of Uganda’s rising competitiveness in African eFootball.
Uganda’s tournament journey concluded in the Round of 16, where they encountered a formidable Nigerian side. While the match ended in defeat, Uganda’s advancement from the group stage and dominant early performances marked a meaningful milestone in the country’s esports development pathway.

Off the pitch, UEGF also strengthened its presence at a governance level. His participation reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to regional collaboration, institutional development, and the long-term growth of esports across Africa.

The Africa eFootball Championships in Casablanca proved to be more than just a competition. It served as a convergence point for performance, policy, and partnership. Uganda’s on-field results, combined with active engagement in continental governance, reflect a broader strategic vision to position the nation as a respected and competitive force in African esports.
The Uganda Esports and Gaming Federation extends its appreciation to the African Confederation of Esports and the Moroccan hosts for delivering a well-organised championship and looks ahead to building on this momentum in future African and international esports competitions.
