UPG launches GH₵13,000 FIFA 22 tournament
Ultimate Pro Gaming (UPG) Esports Agency officially launched its biggest esports event on Friday, June 24 at the Game It Up! Hub in Marina Mall, Accra.
The event dubbed the “FIFA 22 Ultimate Pro Gaming Tournament” is set to see gamers from across three regions (i.e. Greater Accra, Western and Ashanti regions) in the nation battle it out for the GH₵13,000 ($1,635.22) prize pool.
The launch of the tournament was a huge success bringing together some of the country’s esports leaders and gamers as well as the media and other interested parties.
Registration for the Greater Accra Regional Qualifiers will be done completely online from August 1 – 8 before the competition kicks off from August 19 – 20 at the Game It Up! Hub in the Marina Mall from 6 – 9 PM GMT.
This will be followed by the Western Regional Qualifiers whose registration will also be done completely online from September 1 – 8 with the main event taking place from 6 – 9 PM GMT at the Game It Up! Hub in the Takoradi Mall from September 23 – 24.
The final region to be visited is the Ashanti Region, where registration for their Qualifiers will also be done completely online from October 1 – 8 with the main qualifiers kicking off at the Game It Up! Hub in the Kumasi City Mall from 6 – 9 PM GMT.
All registration will be done at the UPG Esports Agency official website.
The 1st and 2nd place winners from each region will move on to the Grand Finals which will be held in December at a yet-to-be-announced location in Accra where they will battle it out for a slice of the GH₵13,000 ($1,635.22) prize pool.
Founded in 2020, the UPG Esports Agency organises competitive esports tournaments across Africa as the organisation looks to develop and promote the emerging sport to compete among the top pro gaming industries in the world.
