Virago Run reached 1,200 pre-registers in a day

Nigerian game developer Sunday Akor recently announced his new hyper casual 2D adventure platformer Virago Run reached over 1,200 pre-registers in just a single day.

Sunday revealed that soon after announcing to his fans on TikTok that the game is coming soon to the Google Play Store pre-registrations shot up stating that he is “looking forward to to entering the new and trending tab during [the] release!”

Virago Run which is currently available on the Steam Store for $9.99 tells the story of Willow, a young girl called who after an incident with her stalker begins to suffer from hallucinations which affect her psychologically and emotionally.

The game seems to take inspiration from other indie titles such as Playdead and Double Eleven’s popular puzzle-platformer Limbo but differentiates itself by telling a unique story with unique features – such as giving the player delayed/slow attacks as a way to implement Willow’s severe anxiety in the game.

The game however has a lot to work on, which is evidenced by the game’s mixed reception on Steam though it should be noted that over 60% of players recommend the game.

Virago Run officially launch on the Google Play store yesterday May 15 and can be downloaded here.
