Ghanaian esports team ‘Xplosion’ of AllGamesGH was launched earlier today May 26 and is set to unveil its FIFA and Mortal Kombat (MK) teams at ShopGH‘s upcoming esports tournament to be held at the Marina Mall in mid-June.

The team was founded by Ghanaian gaming retailer, AllGamesGH, whose Chairman Marvin Akowuah-Dantey revealed the reasoning behind the team’s formation in an exclusive interview with EAN.

“We decided to come up with Xplosion to help gamers who had the potential to become pros realise their dreams,” Marvin said “Xplosion will compete in lots of games but for now we have started with FIFA and MK”

“We have some players we have signed but we will unveil them in mid-June when our shirt sponsor [ShopGH] organizes a FIFA and MK competition to be held at the Marina Mall.”

Founded back in 2017, AllGamesGH has become one of the nation’s biggest supporters of esports partnering with the Esports Association, Ghana (EAG) in organising a number of events across the country.

“Initially Esports was not the avenue the company was looking at but as we entered the industry, we realized the passion people had for esports so we decided to look there and here we are with Xplosion,” Marvin revealed

Marvin also thanked the EAG for their support in building team Xplosion stating the association “have supported us from Day 1.”

Currently, AllGamesGH has shops and gaming hubs across Accra which it plans to use to develop Xplosion into a team that can take on the world.
