One of the scariest things in life is knowing that something you love is going to end up being bad for you. That something that was meant to comfort you becomes the reason why you can’t sleep at night. It is frightening to know the possibilities of these things and thankfully there are several ways to ease the mind. The world of esports and gaming have become the home and safe haven for many people around the world.

Some people find that gaming helps some mental issues and even helps with sadness and social issues like loss of a loved one.As much as gaming has been helpful in so many ways, the negative or downsides of this hailed savior cannot be ignored. Like any other thing in existence, there is always the bad side which is usually overlooked because of how good it is. Gaming is fun and should be healthy when done the right way but the right way is also mostly pushed aside.

Auditory hallucination for example is one of the things a gamer could get when the gaming isn’t checked or ordered. Auditory hallucinations work the same as hallucinations but this time deal with your hearing. The gamer tends to hear things that aren’t there and could be rather problematic even though it seems fairly harmless. For one, hearing things that aren’t there is sure to send any individual into depression of different extents and no matter how one looks at at it, that doesn’t sound very good.

This condition can also lead to paranoia and an aggressive behavior in the patient. Seizures and headaches are also some side effects of auditory hallucinations with a long term effect being the change in brain functions as the person ages since he or she cannot tell what is real and what is not. This is caused by exposing the ears constantly to the game sounds and usually at high volumes. Taking long breaks between games will make a world of difference.

Wrist, back and neck pain is also another thing to be wary of. Whether mobile, PC or console the neck and wrist of the gamer get strained as he or she stays in one position for long hours and doing the same movements over and over again. These could easily be ignored or curbed with painkillers but taking breaks between games and stretching could help reduce the risk of experiencing these. Getting proper chairs that hold your back properly also help prevent these pains.

Obesity is also another negative effect of gaming. Most gamers tend to do anything other than eat and game. As much as that sounds like a dream, packing calories and fat while doing something you love and could possibly kill you doesn’t sound so good anymore. Most just eat and do every other thing except toiletry needs next to the game. That is not healthy since a sound mind can only reside in a sound body. The habit of gaming constantly without doing any other thing could be very unhealthy.

Eating well, raking breaks, exercising or at least taking walks would help burn the gathered up problems in the body from gaming. Repetitive strain injuries is (RSI) is a general term used to describe the pain felt in muscles, nerves and tendons caused by repetitive movement or even overuse. Overworking your muscles can never be a good thing since it wears it away, makes it weak and causes further problem for the individual. For a gamer, the arms are most likely to suffer these conditions since they are used most.

A gamer must always keep his wellbeing in mind even while doing something he or she loves and has presumed is harmless. Taking care of yourself is the sure way to enjoy the world of gaming and esports for a long time to come.
