3 Crown Esports acquires Lag Esports
The organisers of the hugely successful Africa Elite Championships (AEC), 3 Crown Esports, have announced that they have acquired the Zimbabwean PUBG Mobile (PUBGM) team, Lag Esports.
The acquisition was revealed by 3 Crown Esports on their Instagram platform, stating that Lag Esports will represent the organisation in upcoming tournaments. “3 Crowns Esport is proud to announce the acquisition of Lag Esports and they will be representing the organisation in upcoming tournaments.”
One of those tournaments is the 3 Crown Esports-organised African Elite League (AEL), which is set to kick off on September 8 and will see 22 of the continent’s best PUBM teams, including the now acquired Lag Esports, battle it out for a share of the $3700 prize pool.
The Zimbabwean PUBG Mobile (PUBGM) team is currently participating in the ongoing 2022 PUBG Mobile Pro League-Africa Fall and, as of writing, they are currently in 16th place with 13 points, 64 points behind first place One Million Esports from Morocco.
Rumors had been swirling about who 3 Crown Esports would acquire ever since the organisation made their intention to acquire a T1 esports team known on Instagram, with many speculating that the organisation would acquire South African esports team Desert Flame Esports.
The organisation, however, had other ideas and acquired the Umzansi Esports League Season 4 silver medalists, Lag Esports.
3 Crown Esports have also revealed that they have plans to launch their official esports studio and head office in Lekki, Nigeria soon.
Founded in 2021 in San Francisco, Dubai, and the United Kingdom, 3 Crown Esports is dedicated to providing the very best gaming experiences on the African continent, with an emphasis on mobile and console games and gamers.
