The 2022 Brawl Stars World Finals, which concluded yesterday, November 27, at Disneyland Paris, shattered records and became the most-watched esports event in the history of the mobile game.

According to Esports Charts, the event had over 390,000 peak viewers, with the round of 16 match between Tribe Gaming EU and ZEST LATAM being the most popular.

Alongside beating the game’s peak viewership record, which was previously set at 258,446 during 2020’s Brawl Stars World Finals, this year’s edition also garnered the most hours watched (2.9m) and average viewers (200,000).

This year’s grand final featured both of ZETA DIVISION’s rosters—ZETA DIVISION ONE and ZERO—with the Japanese organisation’s ZERO team claiming the title.

Notable Western organisations that took part in the event include SK Gaming and NAVI, the latter of which competed in three titles—CS:GO, Brawl Stars and VALORANT—in one weekend.

In terms of average viewers, the most popular team, according to Esports Charts, was the Brazilian roster Chasmac Gaming BR (335,800). ZETA DIVISION ONE was the most viewed team in terms of hours watched (913,800).

Unlike last year’s event, the 2022 Brawl Stars World Finals featured spectators who travelled to the Disney Events Arena. Similarly to the title’s other world finals, the tournament featured a $1 million prize pool, with $400,000 going to the victors.

The most popular language platform for this year’s event was English, recording a peak figure of 308,354. This was followed by Spanish (54 457), Portuguese (20,668) and French (13,093).
