Africa Games Week Returns for 8th Edition to “Shine a Spotlight on the African Gaming Industry”
CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA – Africa Games Week (AGW), the premier business event for the African video game industry, is proud to announce its eighth annual edition, taking place from December 1–4, 2025, at Workshop 17 in Cape Town. Under the theme “Shining a Spotlight on the African Gaming Industry” and the sub-theme “Shaping Our Future in Games,” this year’s event will highlight the continent’s rapid growth and unique
contributions to the global gaming ecosystem.
Africa Games Week 2025 is designed to be a catalyst for innovation and collaboration, bringing together developers, publishers, investors, and industry leaders from across Africa and around the world. The event will focus on creating a sustainable and independent future for African gaming through cutting-edge innovation, alternative funding models, and pioneering development pipelines.
Attendees can look forward to a dynamic program featuring:
● Global Speakers: Industry experts from around the world will share their knowledge and insights on the future of gaming.
● Insightful Panels: Discussions will tackle critical topics on how the African gaming industry can grow and thrive.
● Practical Workshops: Hands-on sessions led by experts will help up-skill attendees in all areas of running a successful game studio.

In an exciting new development for this year’s event, Africa Games Week will host the inaugural AGW Awards to celebrate the remarkable talent and innovation within the African gaming community. Nominations are open, and the awards will be presented on the final day of the event.
