Artastic December, a trade and fun fair with a night of music and dance, is hosting an all-female FIFA 23 competition on December 17 at the Nanbuke Art Foundation in East Legon, Accra. The competition will feature gamers competing for cash prizes as well as products from sponsors.

This presents an opportunity for female gamers, particularly FIFA female gamers, to demonstrate their talent and stretch their muscles in the renowned franchise. Female gaming in Ghana is on the upswing, with a number of contests hosted this year, including the Girls in Gaming (GiG) championship held in February at the Esports Academy in Haatso, Accra.

Monica “GamerGirlNica” Mensah Sefakor, one of the country’s finest female FIFA gamers, played against prominent Ghanaian online personality Kwadwo Sheldon on his YouTube channel last month, demonstrating how far female gaming in Ghana has come in 2022.

Artastic December organisers plan to fill December in Ghana with a diverse mix of art forms, fans, and food enthusiasts all in one area as part of their activities in collaboration with the Beyond the Return Initiative.

Individuals who want to compete must pay a cost of GH₵50 to register for the competition, which will take place on December 17, 2022.
