Despite a price increase for the PS5, Xbox Series prices remain unchanged
Microsoft says it won’t increase the price of its Xbox Series X and Series S consoles despite Sony recently raising the price of its PlayStation (PS5) consoles in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Sony announced earlier this week that it would be increasing prices across all PS5 models due to currency fluctuations.
While Sony excludes the United States from the regions or countries affected by this change, PlayStation revealed in a blog post that the PS5 will cost €100 more in Europe than the previous price of €449.99, and regions such as the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific may see an even larger price increase (though no specifics have been confirmed).
The Xbox Series X and S are still available for the same price. These are premium bundles; they contain 1TB hard drives and come with a full game download code inside each box. If any of you are thinking about purchasing one in the near future, now might be a good time.
