EA Play Live called off

According to reports coming in, Electronic Arts (EA) will not be hosting its traditional EA Play Live event this year.

This comes via a report from Imagine Games Network (IGN) which spoke exclusively to an EA representative.

“We love EA Play Live as it’s our way of connecting with our players and sharing what’s new with all of you. However, this year things aren’t lining up to show you everything on one date.”

“We have exciting things happening at our world-class studios and this year we’ll reveal much more about these projects when the time is right for each of them.”

“We look forward to spending time with you throughout the year!” the Electronic Arts’ rep concluded

EA has been hosting the EA Play Live event since 2016 as a means to allow fans to try the publisher’s upcoming lineup of games.

However, last year, saw the usually live event shift to a streaming format due to the COVID-19 pandemic and while live events are beginning to return such as Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest.

The summer schedule still remains uncertain due to E3 2022 cancelling its in-person event.

EA’s upcoming slate includes its usual sports lineup as well as the brand-new Dead Space remake, which is expected to release in early 2023. Respawn is also working on multiple new Star Wars games.
