Lord Nokum from la Côte d’Ivoire makes history by becoming Gamr X‘s first ever Street Fighter V champion.

Nokum who goes by the gamer tag “Lord-Nok” showed his dominance in the cage as he flew the flag of la Côte d’Ivoire high defeating all who stepped into the ring.

The Ivorian received a lot of praise following his victory including from multi-fighting games champ and specialist Tao Fights who called Lord-Nok a national pride.

“I extend my sincere congratulations to the virtuoso of the Ivorian, Lord Nokum, who won the title of African Street Fighter V champion on Nigerian soil on the occasion of the 1st Pan-African championship, Gamr X. He is unquestionably the best and a national pride.”

Bakayoko Sidick who describes himself as a made in Africa esports and video game evangelist used the opportunity to call for more support for Ivorian gamers on the global stage stating;

“Congratulations to Lord Nokum who just won the GamrX tournament in Lagos, Nigeria. Capcom Fighters [and] Capcom France, Côte d’Ivoire has great fighters who need support to shine in global events.”

Gamr X kicked off on 2nd April 2022 at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria and saw some of the best gamers from ten African countries including Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, Kenya, Algeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Ivory Coast and hosts Nigeria compete in five game titles for a prize pool of $15,000.
