Netflix reveal Tekken: Bloodline release date
For all you Tekken and anime fans out there, Netflix has revealed the official release date for their upcoming anime adaptation of the popular Bandai Namco fighting game series.
The series, which was teased back in March, is set to debut on August 18 and is set to see a visual makeover for some of the franchise’s favourite characters, as revealed by the first full trailer for the new Tekken: Bloodline series.
The series is set to follow the youngest member of the Mishima Bloodline, Jin Kazama, who learns the Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age but is, however, unable to protect her when a monstrous evil suddenly appears, changing his life forever.
Angry at himself for being unable to protect his mother, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to his grandfather Heihachi Mishima and the ultimate battle on a global stage — The King of Iron Fist Tournament.
The Netflix series will be Tekken’s second proper anime outing, with the first being Tekken: The Motion Picture in 1998. The popular game series also received an animated CGI film, Tekken: Blood Vengeance, in 2011.
