Paradise Game to host first Challenger event
Bandai Namco Esports has announced that Paradise Game, an Ivorian esports organisation, will hold the first Challenger event of the 2023 Tekken World Tour on May 20th and 21st in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The event, dubbed the “Paradise Game Battle,” is expected to bring together some of the finest African Tekken 7 players as they compete for points towards the 2023 Tekken World Tour. Points will be given to the top 17 gamers in the Paradise Game Battle.
This was announced by both the Paradise Game and Bandai Namco Esports social media accounts with the Ivorian esports organisation calling the inclusion of the Paradise Game Battle a great victory for African gamers. “We are happy to announce that Ivory Coast will host the first Challenger event of the Tekken World Tour of Bandai Namco Esports. A great victory for African gamers!”
Challenger events are influential community events that have the potential to become future Master events, making the inclusion of the Paradise Game Battle a huge deal for the African continent, as Master events are the Tekken World Tour’s large-scale events that typically bring together the best Tekken players from around the world.
The Tekken World Tour is a series of physical events conducted around the world. The main goal of this tournament is to discover the best Tekken 7 player in the world. However, this could be the tour’s final year with Tekken 7, as the franchise’s eighth major installment is scheduled to release in 2024.
