Africa Games Week (AGW) is a business conference that is made up of 4 significant sub-conferences that explore the business aspects of the gaming industry of Africa, which is showing rapid growth.

4 SIGNIFICANT SUB-CONFERENCES

Two of these conferences, Games for Change and Mobile Growth Summit are major international USA events that AGW have introduced to the African market to further expose the remarkable talent Africa has to offer to the rest of the world. The remaining two, Make Games Africa in its fifth iteration and Africa Stream Con, in its second edition are industry-leading conferences.

Each sub-conference will have a variety of specialised speakers and panels in the mornings, and smaller technical workshops in the afternoons. One-on-one meetings and networking events will be scheduled throughout the course of the week. The week rounds up with a 3 day live exhibition event at Workshop17 at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

Africa Games Week networks extensively with industry leaders from across Africa and the World, including at #GamesCom2022, building a community designed specifically to engage and grow the gaming industry in Africa. Speakers and VIP guests are chosen for relevance and resonance for the African market, and secured and fully hosted for their time in Cape Town.

While the content of Africa Games Week is of interest and value to those passionate about gaming, it is not a consumer-facing convention. There is an exhibition aspect of the event, where a carefully selected group of industry-relevant vendors will have stands, and where entry will be free to the public who want to learn more about the gaming industry in Africa.

But to have access to expert industry talks, panels, workshops and further B2B meetings and exclusive private events, there are tickets available to suit your needs.

CONFERENCE ONLY PASS  @ $90 / R1,495

This is the ticket for you if you are working locally or looking to enter into the gaming industry in Africa and want to learn from the best in the business. You will have full access to all 4 conferences, over all 3 days of the live event. You can choose the talks and panels that hold the most relevance for your place in the industry, and sign up for the smaller practical workshops where you can personally engage with and learn from the experts.

BUSINESS PASS @  $450 / R6,955

If you have an active business in the African gaming industry or are ready to make the next move for your career, this pass is the one for you. Beyond the conferences and workshops, the Business Pass gets you access to fringe events, dinners and lunches, which offer you an opportunity to socialise and network with high-profile people in the international industry. For example, AGW hosted the CEO of Mojang (Minecraft) in February. The Business Pass also covers transport, entrance and bills for all the dinners, lunches and events not happening at the event location.

VIP & NETWORKING PASS @  $750 / R11,855

The VIP and Networking Pass is aimed at international visitors and corporates who are looking for a fully facilitated event. This pass includes full access to the conferences and workshops, the fully catered private lunches and all fringe events showing off Cape Town to international audiences and allowing a more private networking experience.

Beyond that, the Africa Games Week organisers take on the responsibility of arranging B2B matchmaking meetings. You submit the names or categories of people you would most like to meet, the AGW team arranges those meetings and your itinerary is managed.
