After a dominating display in the Grand Finals of the Umzansi Esports League, Nigerian PUBG Mobile (PUBGM) team Slime 4kT have finally been crowned champions for the fifth season of the continental competition.

This recent achievement adds to Slime 4kT’s 2022 wins which include their victory in 3 Crowns Esports‘ maiden edition of the Africa Elite Championship (AEC) which saw the Nigerian side beat out One Round Esports, and Black Cobra to claim the ultimate.

The Nigerian side has completely dominated the competition since Day 1 when they claimed 68 points, 24 points ahead of their closest rivals, Zero Tolerance Skills (ZTS) from Mauritius. Day 2 would see Slime 4kT extend their lead at the top, securing 128 points ahead of Somalia’s Mad Night, who replaced ZTS in second with 91 points.

The final day would see the Slime 4kT team of Joseph “199Pronto” Olaleye, Hakan “Zeus” Obayendo, Oluwafemi “Fex” Ogunsanya and Yahya “77Plazza” Jouilla complete their complete domination of the Umzansi Esports League with 203 points, 69 points ahead of second-placed Mad Night and 101 points ahead of Team Unique of Morocco in third place.

The Umzansi Esports League is organised by NODWIN Gaming Africa, bringing together 32 of the continent’s best PUBG Mobile teams to do battle in a 3-month long competition starting on June 21 for a chance to secure a slice of the $17,500 prize pool.
