Bravado Gaming and Orlando Pirates Exdee, Africa’s reps for the 2022 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) World Championships, have unfortunately failed to make it to the Group Stage of the ongoing competition.

Both sides failed to make it into the Top 8 of the competition’s Wildcard, which was held from August 4–7 to secure their place in the Group Stage, with Orlando Pirates Exdee finishing in 13th place and Bravado finishing in joint 15th.

Bravado Gaming’s team of Kamran Christopher “Daisy” Naidoo, David “Happymeal” du Plessis, David “2Die4” Morgenrood, and Blade “SlaYeR” Taylor kicked off their Wildcard run with a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Australian team Renegades.

The South African team would then face off against The Club from Brazil in the second round, again being thrashed 4-0. The Senbei Strikers from Asia were the final team on the list, with the Africans falling to a 4-1 defeat, picking up their first game victory in the process.

Despite losing their first two rounds to Version1 from North America and Brazil’s Team Secret, Orlando Pirates Exdee fared a bit better than their South African brothers, winning their third-round match against Gaimin Gladiators, defeating the Canadian esports organisation 4-1.

The South African team would then move on to the fourth round, where they faced off against the Australian side, the Pioneers, losing 4-1 to their opponents.

Despite not making it to the Group Stage of the 2022 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) World Championships, Bravado Gaming and Orlando Pirates Exdee would not go home empty-handed, going home with $6,800 and $10,200 in prize money, respectively.
