Altum CODM Campus Tournament kicks off tonight
2022 has seen Ghana continue to take small steps toward complete recognition of esports in the West African nation.
Several organisations, including the Esports Association, Ghana (EAG), the Ghana Esports Federation (GEF), and GiiKs Game City (GGC), among others, are working to have the emerging sport recognised as a sport in the country.
One of these organisations that are working to get esports recognised by the nation is Altum Gaming, which is partnering with Esports Africa News (EAN) and Esports Africa Tournament (EAT) to bring together eight (8) of Ghana’s biggest universities to do battle in Call of Duty Mobile (CODM).
The event, which will be the West African nation’s first-ever inter-university tournament, is set to kick off tonight at 7PM GMT and will see the eight universities battle it out for the GH₵500 ($51.27) prize pool.
The universities set to do battle and make history are the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Academic City University College (ACUC), University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), University of Ghana (UG), University of Energy and Natural Resources (UNER), University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) and Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU).

• Only The MQ-27 Dragonfire, Predator Missile, Napalm, EMP Systems, Lightning Strike, Hunter Killer Drone, SAM Turret and Cluster Strike Are Allowed For Use. All Other Scorestreaks Are Banned

Additional items may be banned from tournaments should the Administration see fit. Item bans will be announced to all players as soon as feasibly possible.
